Recording Employee Competency – Class and Elements
Date Format |

Employee |
The name and unique code of the employee. The system displays the value selected in the “Select Employee” page. |
Competency Code |
The unique code of the competency. |
Competency Description |
The description of the competency. |
Maximum Level |
The maximum competency level set in the process parameters for competencies. |
Employee Type |
The type of the employee’s job. The employee type indicates if the selected employee is a regular employee or has been hired on contract for a limited period or is a consultant etc. |
To view modification history
You can view the effective dates of the previous versions of the record in the “Access Data History” group box.
Effective From |
The date from which the corresponding version of the record was in effect. |
Effective To |
The date till which the corresponding version of the record was in effect. |
Select the “Previous” pushbutton to view the previous set of effective dates.
Select the “Next” pushbutton to view the next set of effective dates.
Specify the following details in the “Competency Details” multiline.
Competency Class |
The description of the competency class. Example ”Behavioural Traits”. |
Competency Class Weightage(%) |
The weightage in percentage for the competency class. |
Competency Element Description |
The description of the competency element. |
Minimum Desired Level |
A value to indicate the level to which the employee should be proficient in the competency against a maximum value set in the process parameters. |
Competency Element Weightage (%) |
The weightage of the competency element in percentage. |
Possessed Level |
The level to which the employee is proficient in the competency. Possessed level reflects actual competency level of the employee as per HR records. |
Valid From |
The date from which the competency information will be in effect. |
Valid Till |
The date until which the competency information will be in effect. |
To specify the modification option
Select the required modification option i.e., “Correct” or “Update” from the “Modification Option” from the drop-down list box.
To edit the record without changing the effective dates
Select the “Correct” option.
To edit the record and change the effective dates
Select the “Update” option.
Note: If the modification option selected is “Update”, you are to specify a new effective date from which a new version will be created in which the changes made will be updated.
To specify the new effective from date
Specify the new date from which the changes should come into effect in the “New Effective From” field.
Select the “Save” pushbutton to save the details specified.
